I hope everyone had a joyus Holiday! It feels as though we spent most of our holiday riding in a car! We truly felt the hustle and bustle of Christmas this year. Jax was, of course, spoiled rotten! Although he is not yet old enough to understand Christmas, he definitely enjoyed looking at all the pretty presents and sparkly bows! He even got into unwrapping them as well. He lost interest quite quickly, but he really thought the wrapping paper was quite tastey. :) He'd rip a piece and try to put it in his mouth. We would take it away and he would repeat the process. As soon as he uncovered the package though, his excitement would shift towards the box and what was in it. It was so cute!!
It seems that Santa visited Rich and I as well. Because as of yesterday Jax was doing all sorts of new things. I think Santa took our baby and left us a little boy! He drank from a sippy cup for the first time (and he slammed that formula in just a few gulps), he showed us that he knows how to attempt going down the stairs. Rich and I have been working on that. We show him how to turn around and slide down on his belly and he did this on his own for the first time yesterday. He's never made an attempt to go down this way. It's just like all of a sudden something clicked. (or maybe it was that tumble he took face first down the stairs last week.) LOL! He's fine...no worries. He really just rolled softly down the stairs and there's only 5 stairs. Of course the BIGGEST NEWS of all is this:
HE TOOK HIS FIRST STEPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so amazing and fun to watch! All 3 of us had the most giant smiles on our face as we watched Jackson's newest accomplishment! He gets so proud of himself and he just wants to do it again and again. This is his downfall, because he gets so excited that he just wants to run and he pretty much just ends up diving head first into our laps. LOL! I just know that in a few days he'll become more confident in himself and he'll be walking all over the house (like a mini drunken sailor).
So overall, it was a pretty exciting "Day after Christmas" for us. We'll have to try to get some of it recorded so we can post it on here for everyone to watch.
But for now...here are some pictures:
Jackson and his "signature" face.
"Mommy, can you please get this hat off my head?"
